We’re Looking for a New Priest to Join Our Church Families!

The Parish of Lakes and Locks and the Parish of Central Frontenac are excited to announce that we are looking for a new priest to join our community. St Paul’s (Westport), St Mary’s (Newboro), and St Andrew’s (Sharbot Lake) are three welcoming churches located in the heart of Eastern Ontario and are known for their friendly congregations.

Each of our historic churches stands as a testament to the dedication of those who came before us, built with genuine love for God. Our buildings, while over 100 years old, are well-maintained and do not anticipate any significant capital expenses in the near future.

We warmly invite you to be part of our communities. Each church has at least one Licensed Lay Reader who regularly leads Morning Prayer services and contributes to the church’s ministry teams. Join us! Walk alongside us in faith, live in one of the most beautiful areas of Ontario, share in our joys and challenges, and help us serve God in our daily lives.

Could this be you?
We are looking for a strong spiritual leader who is committed to pastoral care and can maintain a consistent priestly presence within the church.

This leader will:

  • Engage with parishioners and newcomers as part of Sunday services
  • Meet with Lay Readers and Music Directors to plan upcoming services and address liturgical matters
  • Deliver sermons that are clear, relatable, and relevant to the modern world
  • Collaborate with the local Ecumenical Inter-ministerial Committees to plan and participate in Ecumenical activities
  • Develop strategies with church leadership to tackle the obstacles posed by aging congregations, including a focus on pastoral care, and the decline of youth participation

This is who we are:

  • Each congregation is loving and prayerful
  • We value fellowship, joy, and laughter
  • We have experienced Churchwardens and Licensed Lay Readers to support you
  • Our surroundings are stunning, rural, and peaceful
  • There are opportunities to explore new ideas for mission and community life.

If you feel that God might be calling you to serve with us, we would be thrilled to hear from you!
