Associate Priest

St. Peter’s Erindale is a growing parish. As our attendance levels are growing to pre-pandemic levels, we are looking for a full time Associate Priest to be part of this transition to serve within and beyond our walls. We are brimming with history and love for God while also a progressive and passionate congregation well positioned to embrace the challenges and opportunities that modern parishes face.

We are looking for a candidate who has been ordained in the Anglican Church of Canada or comes to us from one of our Anglican Communion Partners. The successful candidate will be someone who shares their love of Christ, thrives in a diverse team environment and is innovative and imaginative with how we can serve one another through ministry. This individual will report to the Incumbent and work with all staff, ministry leads and volunteers in carrying out our mission. We are a fully welcoming and affirming of 2SLGBTQI+ community and applicants must be as well.

The role of our Associate Priest includes the following:

Ministry Engagement & Support

• Assist the Incumbent and wardens to engage and support the work of lay ministries in our parish.
• Support the Outreach and Social Justice team.
• Revitalize the Health and Wellness committee.
• Participate in community, Deanery and Diocesan activities so that the mission of the congregation beyond itself is furthered.

Pastoral Care

• Lead the Lay Pastoral Care team and revitalize the Lay Eucharistic Ministers Team providing support, coordination and training as needed.
• Share in the care of parishioners of all ages and backgrounds; especially those in crisis or grief, including hospital and home visits.
• Work with the Incumbent to develop a plan to reach out to inactive and former members of the parish.

Worship

• Assist the Incumbent liturgically on Sundays, weekdays and Major Feast days by celebrating Eucharist and preaching.
• Assist with a variety of liturgies including baptisms, weddings and funerals, and services at Retirement homes and Long Term Care homes.
