One of our parishes, St. John’s United-Anglican, a joint Anglican and United Church ecumenical parish, is seeking a ½ stipend priest to join them in this quest.

St. John’s United-Anglican is a multi-generational congregation with a thriving Sunday School, eager to grow and serve. As a church family, we are open to exploring new and creative ways to share Christ’s message and welcome those seeking a deeper faith. With caring and dedicated leadership, St. John Parish is poised to thrive and flourish, continuing our spiritual journey together while inviting new members into our fellowship. Our committed core membership is eager to partner with clergy, strengthening pastoral care throughout our community.

We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic leader who has a genuine passion for people and worship– someone who will inspire our congregation and build meaningful connections within the wider church community. We need a compassionate, approachable person who will listen, visit, and walk alongside people in every season of life.

Terms of Employment

• Housing Provided
• Flexible hours
• Work together with the United Church Northern Spirit Regional Council and the Diocese of Athabasca to provide services, Communion, Confirmation and Baptism
• Remuneration will be in accordance with the Council of the North
• Part-time administrative support

Breakdown Anticipated Priorities

• Worship – 50% (Lay Leaders and readers will also partake)
• Pastoral Care – 25%
• Christian Education – 15%
• Administration – 5%
• Wider Church – 5%

• A written statement of about 500 words outlining why you may be called to explore this opportunity.
• The names and contact information for three referees prepared to provide information on the cleric’s pastoral skills, interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build community, ministry experience, and sensitivity. If you are an Assistant Curate or graduating postulant for ordination, you should give your Rector/Incumbent, supervising priest/pastor or mentor as a reference.

Those from outside the diocese should confirm that they have their bishop’s permission to explore a possible appointment outside of their own synod/diocese.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a valid criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
