The Bishop of Saskatchewan The Rt. Rev. Richard Reed is inviting applicants for the position of Rector of St. Alban’s Cathedral and St. George’s Anglican Church in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. If ordained, applicants should be in good standing and have permission from their bishop to apply. Bishop Reed is willing to consider applicants who are seeking ordination.

Missionary work began in the Diocese of Saskatchewan in the 1850s and it became a Diocese with its see at Prince Albert in 1874. The Diocese serves the northern two-thirds of the civil Province of Saskatchewan. The Diocese has always been bilingual, Cree and English, and worship here has always been primarily from English and Cree editions of the Book of Common Prayer.

The Diocese is a member of the Communion Partners and has been active in supporting the Prayerbook Society of Canada. The Diocese maintains and upholds the Book of Common Prayer as the standard of doctrine and discipline in the Anglican Church of Canada.

St. Alban’s Cathedral is a traditional Anglican parish situated in downtown Prince Albert. In 2024 the Bishop ordained a vocational deacon, the Rev. David Zulkoskey to serve the needs of the community. Deacon David is actively involved in care home ministries and other outreach.

St. George’s is a smaller but no less vibrant parish situated in the “east flat” neighbourhood of Prince Albert close to the Saskatchewan river. At our synod in 2025 the bishop intends to ordain Mrs. Kathleen Stewart as a vocational deacon to serve the needs of the community. There is an active ACW and the church owns a rectory which will be made available to the successful applicant for their housing.

Bishop Richard is seeking in the next rector a priest who sees themselves as a missionary and who has a desire to reach the people of Prince Albert with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Contact Bishop Richard at [email protected] or Archdeacon Brody Albers at [email protected] for further information.
