Incumbent / Rector

Website St. Aidan Anglican Church - Diocese of Rupert's Land

The Parish of St. Aidan is a vibrant and vital parish with a long history of missional outreach and community involvement, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba within the Diocese of Rupert’s Land.  The Lord has blessed us with a long line of strong, scripturally grounded Incumbents who have faithfully sought to follow His will in the life of this parish.  We believe in the infallibility of Scripture, “…handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word.” (Luke 1:2), adhere to the 39 Articles of Religion, and seek to be sacramental, evangelical, and charismatic in our worship.

St. Aidan’s is richly blessed with a strong and broadly talented Leadership Team, an eager congregation, and a deep passion for Jesus.  We strive constantly to seek the Lord’s guidance in all we do, and to rely on the Holy Spirit to provide for all our needs.  We work to minister to those within and outside our parish, and we look forward to welcoming a new pastor with a long-term vision to share.  Our new incumbent will find an adaptable and multi-faceted congregation that is ready to serve God.

We look forward to 2024 with great anticipation, trusting the Lord Jesus will use us and our Incumbent to:

  • Maintain our theological integrity while relating to an increasingly post-Christian culture.
  • Spread the Good News throughout our local and wider communities.
  • Train disciples to fulfill the Great Commission through word and action.
  • Encourage volunteer commitment to ministry positions.
  • Empower lay members to use their spiritual and practical gifts in leading worship and participating in essential ministries.
  • Further develop our online presence and in-person membership.

Our Parish Profile will provide you with a better sense of our identity as Children of God.  We may have an unusual leadership structure, but it lends itself to providing a wider range of counsel as we listen for the voice of the Lord leading us in His work.  Our aim is always to honour and glorify the Real God, in a Real Church, with our Real Lives.

Applications for this position will be received until close of business on Friday, April 26th, 2024. For further information and the full application package contact The Ven. Simon Blaikie, Executive Archdeacon, at 204-992-4212 or email at [email protected]
