St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Grimsby, Ontario (just a short drive from Hamilton), is seeking a part-time Music Director who will continue to build the music program.
St. Andrew’s was built more than 200 years ago and has excellent acoustics. We are blessed to have a two manual Casavant Freres organ, which has been described as a gem by many musicians. A piano is also used at times during the liturgies.
The Choir currently consists of 8 dedicated individuals who lead the congregation in a traditional choral Eucharist on Sundays at 10:00 AM, as well as special services throughout the year. The Choir rehearses weekly on Thursdays at 7:00 PM from September to June, and prior to each service.
The position is involves approximately 10 hours per week, with vacation and sick days being provided. The RCCO Salary Guidelines will form the basis of determining remuneration. Familiarity with Anglican Church liturgy will be a definite asset but is not a requirement.
