The Diocese, located at 1340 Cathedral Lane, Halifax is currently hiring a full-time, permanent Administrative Assistant.  This position is primarily responsible for providing confidential, administrative assistance and support to senior management, and ensuring the efficient and effective operation and communications in the Synod Office.   To note, this is an on-site position.

The successful candidate will have a Business Administration or an Office Administration diploma.

The Successful candidate should have experience with efficiently responding to phone and email inquiries, receiving and preparing outgoing mail and courier packages, coordinates meeting spaces and booking travel, maintaining office and social outreach communications, preparing Minutes for staff meetings, managing office supply inventories, and providing administrative support to the senior management group.  Some experience with A/R and A/P would be an asset but is not required.

The right candidate will have: excellent written and oral communications, the ability to work independently and as part of team, have strong active-listening and customer service skills, the ability to be flexible to task, have strong time management and organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, be a quick learner, be detail oriented, be analytical with solid logical thinking and problem solving skills, be confidential, and be non-judgmental with respect for inclusiveness and diversity.

The salary range is $45,000 to $50,000 to start.  Other benefits include:
