The General Synod of The Anglican Church of Canada is seeking:

COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Salary: Starting at $51 000 (based on experience)
Full-time indefinite role
Pension and benefits package

Office located in downtown Toronto near the Bloor/Yonge subway station. A hybrid work arrangement is negotiable but must be able to commute into the downtown Toronto.

The General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada seeks a Communications Specialist to join our Communications and Information Resources department. The Communications Specialist will develop and produce informative and engaging content for social media, websites, e-newsletters and other communications platforms, reflecting and supporting the Church’s mission and ministry.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • excellent writing and editing skills;
  • strong social and digital media skills;
  • practical research skills.

Reporting to the Director of Communications and working closely with the Manager, Communications and Manager, Web, you will:

Develop, produce and post high-quality social media content for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

  • Research, produce and post high-quality content and materials on ACC websites.
  • Help update and maintain content on ACC websites.
  • Develop, produce and distribute engaging e-newsletters.
  • Develop and implement content calendars for social media and digital properties.
  • Provide reporting and analysis on content performance through analytics tools.
  • Related activities such as handling subscriptions, assisting with webinars, proofreading content, or entering data.

What you bring:

  • Relevant post-secondary qualification (degree or diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing) or equivalent discipline.
  • Relevant experience in communications, public relations, marketing or journalism.
  • Experience writing, editing and producing a variety of communications products.
  • Experience with email marketing and related software tools.
  • Professional experience with social media.
  • Experience with website content and maintenance and familiarity with content management systems, particularly WordPress.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, set and meet deadlines and manage workload.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn new skills and pitch in as necessary.
  • ·Graphic design skills would be an asset.
