Manager, Accounting and Finance

The Anglican Church of Canada – General Synod is seeking;

MANAGER, ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE – CPA or legacy designation required

Salary: $85 000 based on experience
Full time, permanent role with benefits and pension

The General Synod of The Anglican Church of Canada seeks a designated accountant to lead the day-to-day operations of accounting and financial management. The position reports to the Treasurer / CFO.

The Manager, Accounting and Finance will:

• supervise staff
• work with managers across the organization to develop and track their budgets
• develop day-to-day accounting operations such as GL, AP, AR, cash flow, year end and month end reporting, reconciliations and payroll
• prepare, design, analyze and present financial statements and reports
• develop and maintain internal controls and provide recommendations for effective and efficient processes
• manage annual financial audit and ad hoc CRA audits
• ensure regulatory compliance with organizations such as CRA, Industry Canada and MPAC

Qualifications and experience

• CPA or legacy accounting designation completed
• 5 years or more of progressive accounting experience
• Preferred experiences include not-for-profit, management / supervision and working with volunteer boards and committees
• Criminal reference check will be part of the hiring process
