Job Title: Receptionist

Reports To: Guest House Manager
Start Date: September 2025

Position Summary

As the Receptionist, you will serve as the communication and information hub for our Guest House. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, playing a vital role in supporting our mission of hospitality by offering a kind and helpful presence at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming & Front Desk Duties

  • Greet all guests and visitors warmly and notify staff of their arrival.
  • Provide clear instructions on parking procedures and assist overnight guests.
  • Support any visitor check-in or safety protocols as needed (e.g., public health).

Telephone Operations

  • Operate a multi-line phone system with professionalism and courtesy.
  • ·Transfer calls and take detailed, accurate messages.
  • Monitor voicemail and ensure timely message delivery to appropriate staff.

Mail & Deliveries

  • Receive mail and notify appropriate staff.
  • Accept deliveries and direct them as needed.

Clerical & Administrative Support

  • Maintain reception area cleanliness and keep literature racks stocked.
  • Update the reception area’s Smart-TV slideshow with current information.
  • Assist with special projects and general clerical tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role.
  • Skilled in using multi-line phone systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient.
  • Professional, approachable, and welcoming.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to remain seated at a reception desk for extended periods.
  • Able to walk throughout the convent as required.

Hours of work: Three days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays)

Hourly Rate: $21.66
